What you get

What a fractional PMM owns.

The work a senior in-house product marketer would own, from the evidence behind a decision to the assets your teams use with buyers.

  1. 01

    Market & Customer Intelligence

Customer and market research and competitive insight. The evidence for your next decision.

    Market & Customer Intelligence
  2. 02

    ICP & Segmentation

Segments that predict who will buy, and an ICP that sales and marketing actually use.

    ICP & Segmentation
  3. 03

    Positioning & Differentiation

A position you can defend, and messaging every team tells the same way.

    Positioning & Differentiation
  4. 04

    Go-to-Market & Enablement

Product launches that land: a launch plan, the story behind the release, and sales and marketing ready on day one. Then the enablement that turns that story into pipeline.

    Go-to-Market & Enablement

When a fractional PMM makes sense.

  1. 01

You need product marketing, but not yet a full-time role.

Someone senior owns it now, while you find out what the role should be.

  2. 02

Your PMM team needs extra senior capacity.

A launch, a new market or a repositioning, on top of everything already running.

  3. 03

    You’re between PMM hires.

The work continues, and the next hire inherits momentum instead of a gap.

    Adding PMM expertise & capacity
  4. 04

A big change needs someone owning it week to week.

A new market, a new product, a move upmarket.

    Making a significant GTM move

When fractional isn’t the right call.

  • The question is clear and has an end.

A scoped project is faster and costs less.

  • Your direction isn’t set yet.

Start with a scoped project on positioning or segmentation. Fractional work goes further once the direction is clear.

  • You want one day a week.

Spread that thin, product marketing stalls: every step waits a week for the next.

  • You need product marketing full time, for good.

Then hire. I can help set up the role first.

Fractional PMM vs the alternatives.

Most teams weigh four options. The right one depends on what you need: deliverables, an answer to one question, ongoing ownership or a permanent role.

Scoped projects and fractional work are the two ways I work. Many engagements start as one and continue as the other.

From first call to part of your team.

  1. 01

    A first conversation

Where the business is, what needs to move, and whether fractional is the right answer or a scoped project fits better.

  2. 02

    A fixed proposal

Scope, days a week and monthly price, agreed before anything starts.

  3. 03

    The first weeks

I join your calls and channels, read what exists, meet the people across product, sales and marketing, and agree the first priorities with you.

  4. 04

    Week to week

Owning the work we agreed, in your tools and your meetings.

  5. 05

    Regular reviews

What moved, what’s next, and whether to continue, change pace or stop. After the first month, you can stop and pay only for that month.

Questions about fractional PMM

What is a fractional PMM?

A senior product marketer who works part of the week as part of your team, usually for several months. You get the ownership and experience of an in-house PMM without hiring for the role. Fractional PMM, freelance PMM and PMM as a service describe roughly the same model.

How is a fractional PMM different from a freelancer?

A freelancer usually delivers what you brief. A fractional PMM helps decide what’s needed, works across teams and owns the outcome over months.

How many days a week does a fractional PMM work?

With me, two or three. Any less and the work stalls. Smaller, defined work fits better as a scoped project.

What does a fractional PMM cost?

With me, €960 a day ($1,060): about €8,300 a month at two days a week and €12,500 at three, excluding VAT. The pricing page has the details.

Can a fractional PMM work alongside our product marketing team?

Yes. Some teams bring me in because they have no PMM yet, others because their team needs extra senior capacity for a while.

When should we hire a full-time PMM instead?

When product marketing is a stable, full-time need and you know what the role should own. Fractional work often comes first: at AQQO, I introduced product marketing as a function and supported the hire that followed.

Want to see if fractional fits?

Tell me what’s changing in your business. I’ll tell you honestly whether fractional product marketing is the right answer, or whether a scoped project fits better.
